The way people have been going on about Kate Beckinsale's steamy shower scene in Whiteout, you'd think no one had ever taken a shower in a sci-fi film before! Maybe it's time critics took a cold shower themselves, because as far as we can tell, such scenes are almost as much a part of sci-fi as aliens or spaceships.
Check out 30 of the sexiest, funniest and weirdest scenes we could find of stars being doused in water, oil and even ... blood.
[Warning: Certain of these scenes will be NSFW.]
Starship Troopers
Starship Troopers Shower Scene - The most amazing bloopers are here
Casper Van Dien shows plenty of skin—as do the rest of the male and female soldiers—in a sci-fi film from the director of Showgirls. Who cares about killing alien bugs? We'd join the Mobile Infantry just for the co-ed showers!

Harrison Ford interrogates a showering Joanna Cassidy as he hunts down replicants. Unfortunately, the future Indiana Jones keeps his clothes on.
Blade
Water isn't the only way to get wet, as unlucky club-hoppers learn when blood rains down during a vampire rave.
Battlestar Galactica
Did Jamie Bamber just step from the shower, or is he only preserving his modesty with a towel while being interviewed by Lucy Lawless? With a six-pack like that, we don't really care.
Chuck
Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski strip down and leap into the shower to decontaminate, but it's pretty clear that when Chuck starts soaping Sarah, he has other things in mind. (We couldn't find an embeddable clip of this scene, but you can watch it here.)
Weird Science
We don't meant to insult any film fans whose favorite John Hughes moment is Matthew Broderick singing "Danke Schoen," but we're sorry, Kelly LeBrock in the shower beats Ferris Bueller on a parade float any day.
Lexx

Poor Stanley H. Tweedle. After watching love slave Zev cool down, we know just how he feels.

As Derek Reese, the uncle of John Connor, actor Brian Austin Green didn't survive to the final episode of the series, but he made for good eye candy while he lasted.

One of the series' grossest monsters, the Flukeman, was born in a shower, as you'll see starting at 1:41.
Hollow Man
Rhona Mitra is ogled by Kevin Bacon in our second clip from Paul Verhoeven, a director who definitely has a thing for showers.
Star Trek: Enterprise
As Capt. Jonathan Archer, Scott Bakula demonstrates that without gravity, showers are no fun at all.
Alien vs. Predator
In a clip promoting a video game, two of sci-fi's greatest monsters ... well ... you'll see. (And don't you just hate it when that happens?)
The Eye
We're glad this Jessica Alba clip is from The Eye rather than Fantastic Four, because this is one scene in which we definitely wouldn't want her to be invisible.
Doctor Who (David Tennant)
David Tennant and Billie Piper are disinfected—while remaining fully clothed, unfortunately—during a visit to a futuristic hospital.
Elf
We've all sung in the shower, but only Zooey Deschanel (as opposed to the actor in the next clip) seems to have done it well.
Doctor Who (Jon Pertwee)
The third incarnation of the Doctor shows how a Time Lord really regenerates.
Eli Stone
Jonny Lee Miller—the one-time Mr. Angelina Jolie—dealt with visions in Eli Stone but seemed unable to deal with the beautiful vision that turned up in his shower.
Red Planet
We couldn't find any video of Carrie-Anne Moss showering off the red dust of Mars, just a screen grab to prove that we weren't imagining things. If you find an online clip, let us know and we'll share it here.

Sometimes the only way you can locate a monster is by dropping the soap.
Lost
Evangeline Lilly has gotten wet so many times on Lost—either by being splashed, rained on, or showering—that we could probably pull together an entire list of her alone. But we'll let this clip stand in for the rest, because you get Matthew Fox as a bonus!
